Tell Tale Signs of Road Rage

Some of us need to read this article right now.....

We’ve all seen those people who drive like jack rabbits, switching lanes every other minute, speeding up and slowing down randomly and tailgating others. Road rage can occur at anytime, especially when people are stressed out or running late or just plain frustrated with the traffic or other drivers on the road.

However, if you know what makes you tick, you may be able to calm yourself before you do something you might regret later. The most common causes of road rage are:

1. Bad/Careless driving such as tailgating, cutting others off, not using signals and making obscene gestures
2. Drivers who are angry, stressed, tired, frustrated or having a bad day
3. Drivers who are running late or in a hurry
4. Traffic problems such as accidents, congestion or construction
5. Inconsiderate drivers who don’t respect other drivers.

If you see a driver exhibiting road rage or erratic driving, it is best to stay away from them. If you are the victim of someone exhibiting road rage, try following these tips to stay safe:

1. Stay Calm and don’t make rude gestures or respond to the other driver’s rude
actions. This may fuel the other driver’s anger.
2. Let the driver pass in front of you and never try to out drive the person with
road rage.
3. Pull over to the side of the road if you feel threatened by the driver. If you
are really uncomfortable, call the police.
4 Don’t get out of your car
