2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Mule Spy Photos - Car Of The Future

The C7 Corvette will be more of an evolution, even though you can expect a small V8.

American sports car. A brutally effective results with weapons. A favorite among hairy chest, gold chain-wearing old guys. Or just one of the best dollar for dollar deals performances. Corvette at least a little of all this is a word of a major reform of the amateur world is on fire. Beyond the head speed is also one of the few cars that everyone has an opinion.

We just noticed the first physical evidence of next-generation C7 two mules, a convertible bond and convertible, caught testing on public roads while wearing the current body C6. Although the images themselves do not say much, we have some good ideas on what can be found in 2014 the Chevrolet Corvette.
 Evolve

The current base C6 Corvette is a car rather than the old standard. Introduced in 2004 as a 2005 model, was only a small development of the previous C5. C6 is a very capable machine, but the C7 is not a radical change in the mid-engine layout, many predicted. (This could be the card of C8, however, GM has begun work on that platform, although it has been put on hold during the company's failure to dust.) Front-engine layout makes the over-the coming of the rear transaxle, helps maintain the optimum balance of weight and we believe that the current suspension, transverse leaf springs and all that appears on the model 2014. Although we do not expect any radical extension, when the mules here to show a track closer, their bodies had been donated from C6 Grand Sport, which has a wider fenders and the songs that are based Corvette. Nor is it logical that the Corvette is narrower, without the right reduced the overall length and wheelbase.
The C7 is likely to bring a certain mass, giving greater power to weight ratio.

The engine room, however, should come more important. GM has already invested nearly $ 1 billion in U.S. plants that produce its small-block V-8, and the fifth generation of the power to appear in C7. Downsizing is almost a given for reasons of efficiency, so expect a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter instead of 6.2 in the current model. (As for the often rumored twin-turbo V-6? We believe C8.) 5.5 To continue to use an aluminum block and should be about the same 430 hp as the 6.2 now, but with a ratio of higher compression and direct fuel injection. V-8 can also have cylinder deactivation, variable valve timing, and may even have stop-start feature, it is not exactly ideal for traffic light head-to-head. GM has already announced that the next generation would block a small "new advanced combustion system" which leads us to say that it will work Viper-style "pitch-in-a-cam 'variable valve timing.
 A radical new look?

The department is, we believe that CEO Dan Akerson and design chief Ed Welburn agreed that the new Corvette today is too great, and if you can wait for the C7 to get stretched thinner and more there. A split window treatment can also be offered as an option, in homage to the '63 Sting Ray coupe. The cab should be of similar size and design, and we are optimistic that will use high quality materials. Interior through the rest of the range of Chevrolet has improved in recent times, so that the company has shown he has the know-how.

Chevrolet is keeping a tight lid on all things Corvette, the C7, but should start later in late 2012 or early 2013 with sales beginning in the first quarter of 2013. Prices should not change much from current levels, with the basic car starts in the neighborhood of $ 50,000. We will certainly learn more about the C7 as the development progresses, so stay tuned to this space.

Finally, the Z06 and ZR1 models, with their large, supercharged eight, respectively, must return.
