OUCH PIC OF THE DAY!!!
The disturbing images seen here are of a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren crash that took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia about three days ago. The driver of the car was speeding through a corner and suddenly lost control going head to head with the pavement. Apparently, this man wanted to dance with the devil and the devil, not so politely, rejected the invitation by slamming him to a stop. Miraculously, the man was unharmed during this debacle.

Toyota showcases stability fix for 2010 Lexus GX460
2010 Lexus GX460 owners have seemingly received an added dose of fun danger with their luxury SUV, as the Vehicle Stability Control system couldn’t keep the car from drifting all over the place in high speed turns.
fter the problem was spotted by Consumer Reports, the Japanese company acted quickly and immediately stopped selling the tail-happy SUV. Now, the rumored fix has finally been found: a software update for the VSC system which improves its electronics.

First off, 2011 will see the introduction of a Spider version for the 458 Italia that will replace the aging F430 Spider from the current lineup. Project F151 is next, consisting of a replacement for the 612 Scaglietti grand tourer which might even get to see the first implementation of the KERS-enabled hybrid system we saw on the Ferrari 599 HY-KERS concept in Geneva.
In 2012 Ferrari is going to launch a successor to the Enzo hypercar that will push its engineers to its limits. Besides that, the year will also see the manifestation of project F152, a replacement for the aging 599 GTB Fiorano.
2013 will see the introduction of some more hardcore variants for both the California roadster and the 458 Italia. The California M will likely receive an array of new features to increase its luxury and performance, while the 458 Scuderia is going the lighter and faster route, in order to offer something for track and day to day use.
Overall, a lot of new things are coming for Ferrari fans, so better get your check books ready!

Camaro5Fest, the largest-ever gathering of 2010 Camaro owners
More than 500 2010 Camaros descended on Valdosta, Ga. for the first Camaro5Fest. The event, hosted by Camaro5.com, is believed to have been the largest-ever gathering of fifth-generation Camaro owners. More than 1,000 people attended the event, driving their 2010 Camaros from across the U.S. and Canada to Valdosta on Friday, April 16.

Several members of the Camaro team attended, including Camaro Chief Engineer Al Oppenheiser, Vehicle Line Director Peter Kosak, Camaro Marketing Manager John Fitzpatrick, and Camaro Product Manager Cheryl Pilcher. Team Camaro drove from Detroit to Georgia in two Camaro Transformers Special Editions, two Camaro Synergy Special Editions, a regular production 2010 Camaro, and VIN 002 of a 2011 Camaro.
Camaro5Fest kicked off with a cruise through the streets of Valdosta, led by Oppenheiser. Residents lined the streets, cheering as a line of Camaros more than three miles long passed by under police escort. The following day, Camaro fans traveled to South Georgia Motorsports Park for a car show, drag races and autocross competitions. The track events ended with Camaro owners getting the rare chance to drive their cars on the 1/2-mile oval track.
“It was an incredible opportunity to see the passion and enthusiasm owners have for the new Camaro,” says Fitzpatrick. “This was such an exciting event that I would not be surprised to see more than 1,000 cars at next year’s Camaro5Fest.”

Indian officials ban Dangerous Stunts In Automobile Advertisements
Ever since the Indian Automobile Sector started introducing powerful and high performance automobiles for its customers, the promotion has also become very influencing with numerous stunts being performed with the projected product.
The advertisements portraying a vehicle with amazing capabilities and maneuverability is considered as a Marketing Strategy which is being undertaken by almost every automobile manufacturer present in the market. Bajaj could be seen as an example, showing off its products capabilities through a series of stunts.
But such stunt performance will no longer remain a part of the advertisements since Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), the regulatory body controlling the advertisement content has changed its advertising code relating to strategies for marketing and will take effect for all vehicle segments.
Alan Collaco, secretary general, ASCI stated “Apart from receiving several complaints from the public, we also saw a sudden increase in two-wheeler advertisements promoting their products’ speed and maneuverability with stunts bordering on dangerous,”
Promoting safe practices like wearing helmets, avoiding talking on cell-phones while driving and fastening seatbelts is what the new advertising code is revised to bring in. Violation of traffic rules showing reckless driving or maneuvers which could harm drivers, public or passengers is also prohibited to be portrayed.
Tarun Chauhan, executive director, Lowe Lintas India and other creative head have a different take on this saying there is no harm in showing stunts as long as the fundamentals are taken care of.
He added “Speed is synonymous with a two-wheeler, but its specifications must be clearly defined. Viewers must be informed that such stunts are performed under expert supervision and comply with traffic laws.”
Now with stricter rules and regulations to be followed we have to see how the automotive firms manage to lure the customers and keep their sales high.
