The 64th International Auto Show in Frankfurt isn't only about uncovering the latest concept models and production cars but also about announcing future plans.
Infiniti on its behalf used the motorshow to release a new teaser sketch of its first pure electric model that will arrive in global markets in 2014.

Infiniti M35h Hybrid Against Webber in M37 at the 'Ring

Infiniti is stepping up the ante in its collaboration with the Red Bull Racing team by pitting the reigning Formula One World Champion, Sebastian Vettel, against his team-mate, Mark Webber, in a race with the firm's M37 and M35h saloons at the Nürburgring Nordschleife to mark the start of European sales of the hybrid model.
Sebastian Vettel drove the new M35h that mates a 306HP 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine to a dual-clutch transmission and a 68HP (50kW) electric motor for a combined system output of 364-ponies, resulting in a 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint time of 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
His Red Bull Racing teammate Mark Webber participated in the race in Infiniti's M37 S Premium that comes equipped with a 320-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 for a 0-62 mph in 6.2 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
While Infiniti won’t say who won the race around the 13 miles and 73 bends of the Nordschleife until the first press day of the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 13, the company notes that Webber was “blown away” by how responsive the M35h is, and that Vettel said the encounter between the two teammates was “good fun”.
Vettel, who is the Japanese firm's official Brand Ambassador, will be on hand at the Frankfurt auto show to reveal the new concept version of the FX50 that bears his name.

Infiniti Sportier 2013 IPL G Convertible

Nissan's luxury arm is doubling its Infiniti Performance Line [IPL for short] lineup with the addition of the new 2013 IPL G Convertible that we first saw in concept form at last year's Paris Motor Show.IPL is Infiniti's answer to the in-house tuning divisions of its German competitors such as Audi's S brand, BMW's M department and Mercedes-Benz's AMG branch.
Scheduled to reach the market in spring of 2012, the convertible model follows the IPL G Coupethat went on sale in the States in December of 2010.
Infiniti has not yet announced final details, but the Japanese company said the production model will sport the same "level of equipment and performance modifications" as the concept car.
This means that like its coupe counterpart, the IPL G Convertible will feature a more powerful version of Infiniti's 3.7-liter V6, most likely delivering the same output at 348 horsepower, an increase of 18 horsepower over the engine.
The concept also sported a bespoke aero kit along with a custom exhaust and suspension, 19-inch alloy wheels and unique red leather-appointed interior set against a Malbec Black exterior.
“The IPL G Convertible will deliver the goods, just like the current IPL G Coupe does. Plus, the new IPL G Convertible offers the added pleasure of open-air motoring," said Infiniti Americas Vice President Ben Poore at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance where the IPL G Convertible Concept was on display this past weekend.
“Like every Infiniti, the new IPL G Convertible will take a different path from its established competitors,” added Poore. “It’s a terrific addition to the Infiniti Performance Line, taking the dramatic Infiniti G Convertible to an even higher level.”

2011 Intifiti QX56

The Infiniti QX is a luxury SUV built by Nissan and originally sold in North America. The first generation received its naming inspiration from the recognized four wheel drive terminology "4×4" with Infiniti adding a "Q" at the beginning to suggest it was a luxurious "4×4", borrowed from the Q45. The first generation also had a briefly available Japanese version called the Nissan Terrano Regulus. Consecutive generations are much larger, and the naming convention adheres to the current trend of using a numeric designation derived from the engine's displacement.

Infiniti Car

Infiniti (Japanese: インフィニティ Infiniti?) is the luxury division of automaker Nissan and vicariously, Renault through the Renault-Nissan Alliance. Infiniti officially started selling vehicles on November 8, 1989 in North America. Marketing operations have since grown to include the Middle East, South Korea, Russia, Taiwan, China, and Ukraine. Infiniti began sales in additional European markets in late 2008. The marketing network for Infiniti-branded vehicles now includes over 230 dealers in over 15 countries.

The marque is not used in Japan and the automaker markets most of equivalent Infiniti models domestically as Nissans: Infiniti G as the Nissan Skyline sedan and coupe, Infiniti M as the Nissan Fuga, Infiniti EX as the Nissan Skyline crossover, and Infiniti Q45 as the Nissan Cima. The Infiniti FX has no Nissan equivalent and is not sold in Japan. The first generation Infiniti Q45 was sold as the Nissan Infiniti Q45 in Japan.

The Infiniti brand was introduced in the United States in 1989. The marketing strategy was to target the premium vehicle segments in the United States that would not have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. The brand was created around the same time as Japanese rivals Toyota and Honda's developed their Lexus and Acura premium brands. The Japanese government imposed Voluntary Export Restraints for the U.S. market, so it was more profitable for automakers to export more expensive cars to the U.S.
